This was such a Caillou-watching morning. But no, I had to get caught up reading blogs when I coulda been watching the bald-headed kid we all love to hate.
Damn you, blog authors. Just damn you.
Posted by Ilyka at May 24, 2004 03:39 PM in navel gazingOh, yeah. Caillou is one of my kids' favorites. I hate him with the passion of a thousand suns. Only second to the purple dinosaur from hell.
Posted by: Jiminy at May 24, 2004 09:35 PMOne day right after I got laid off last year, I was flipping through the channels to find something to watch. I happened upon this show.
Within 5 minutes I wanted to stab myself in the eyes just so I would never have even a mistaken chance of seeing this stupid show ever again.
What happened to the shows we had when we were little? Some of the "children's television" they have out now is just...wussified!
Although I had already looked for work that day, it did motivate me to go out AGAIN just to get the hell away from Caiiiiii-yew! (as you perfectly put it on May 4)
Posted by: Serenity at May 25, 2004 02:02 AMThank you very much - I am about to get on an aeroplane for 12 hours and I have that friggin' Caillou song going on in my head.
I'm encouraging my kids to heckle Caillou at every opportunity. The best effort so far has been them screaming to the Dad that it was Caillou that broke the damn pot plant. Bloody clumsy, that kid.
And now I need to go and find some musak to get that song out of my head.
Posted by: Simon at May 25, 2004 03:42 AMThis is why I don't have children.
Or cable.
Although I would gladly have them both, but perhaps only after this show is gone.
Posted by: Helen at May 25, 2004 10:53 AMHey. You and the horse you rode in on, lady.
Posted by: Dean Esmay at May 25, 2004 04:21 PMGreat. Thanks. Here I'd happily fled the living room to catch up on blurfing while my son watches Caillou. And what do I find? YOU'RE WRITING ABOUT THAT LITTLE BRAT!
That's it. I'm starting a Caillou-free zone.
Posted by: Venomous Kate at May 27, 2004 03:09 AMBet there's another reason there Helen.
