As We Limp Along Through the Valley of Mediocrity

Pretentious title for a nothing post right there. But hey, cheer up. I found you something: Cassandra the Inimitable examines what seems to be a fairly silly-sounding study about sex and submission. Go read that, 'cause heaven knows the well done run dry over here.

I admit I giggled at this part:

I get the impression a lot of these "studies" are driven by a feminist agenda.
I just have a feeling that feminists might not like this study any better than Cassandra does. A Technorati search and a brief tour of a few feminist blogs didn't turn up any mention of the study, but I think it'd be an odd feminist indeed who'd cheer a study that essentially concludes, "See?--The broads like it when they're under your thumb (er, pelvis)." It's like anything else--some do, some don't. Posted by Ilyka at July 25, 2005 04:46 AM in navel gazing | TrackBack

No, I don't think they liked me much.

They called me "Villainous Sensibilities".

Sigh... and here I thought I just had vulgar sensibilities.

These were my husband's and my vows to each other (his words, BTW):

"Love me, respect me, don't ever hit me, listen to me, argue with me with the goal of actually solving something vs. just lashing out to hurt, and I will love you, respect you, listen to you. I will never hit you. And will argue with you without intentionally hurting you."

But yet I enjoy it when he pulls my hair in bed.

I make one LOUSY feminist, don't I?

After careful review and thorough consideration of the topic at hand, the editorial board has regretfully concluded that it has no comment. No comment. NO COMMENT at this time. Particularly (that is, in specific), the board wishes to reiterate that it has NO OPINION on whether the abovementioned practice does, or does not, constitute one of the most fabulous enhancers of mood one may enjoy in the course of sexual relations; as to have an opinion on said subject would violate Section 13, Paragraph 6 of the Too Much Information Clause.

Again, the board has NO COMMENT AT THIS TIME.

I knew about the "study", but I wasn't inspired to make fun of it. Some bloggers have. I think Amanda at Pandagon did.

A study like that "driven by a feminist agenda"? When I first read that, I blew iced tea out of my mouth, I was laughing so hard.

Either we're thinking of the same question, or I have a dirty mind... ;)
