Foodstuffs

You're going to be sick of holiday food eventually, so when you get around to craving something different, if you love Indian food as much as I do, check out Indian-Recipe.net, which I found through a commenter's recommendation at The Kosher Blog.

And what exactly was I doing at The Kosher Blog? Bookmarking this gorgeous saag paneer recipe, that's what. It's got that air of authenticity without requiring half a produce market's worth of ingredients, making it just what I was looking for. Saag paneer recipes tend to hit that so-complex, you-might-as-well-just-eat-out point all too often, but this one I think I could handle. Simple, but not simplistic.

Anyway, delicious stuff. Enjoy!

We just found a farmer's market nearby. It's gorgeous! Largest indoor farmer's market in the states and we didn't know about it until a month ago. Oh, the wasted days.

They've got every fresh produce and every spice needed for every dish possible*. I'm all over the new recipes. :-)

* Possibly a slight exaggeration, but not by much. They even sell dressed rabbits, grape leaves and saffron. Can't find those babies in Kroger, I tell you what.

Whoa! I can't decide whether I miss being right down the street from a Central Market or not. On the one hand, it's so freakin' cool to have all that stuff available. It's like wandering into an enormous food porn emporium. On the other hand, going there always set off an attack of what I think Allah called "class panic."

I'm calmer, but I'm not eating as exotically as I used to. I think that's where I was going with this.

I didn't really have anything of value to add to this discussion. I just wanted to sneer at people.

Man. I really need a life, you know?
