Pimp It

You know how some people with weblogs get very protective about their trackbacks and guard them like Fort Knox, i.e., "Why did you send me a trackback when you only mentioned my brilliant post in passing, then spent the rest of your post serenading your cat?" You know the kind of kvetching I'm talking about, 'fess up. Those of us who were not born perfect--we've all sent what I'll just call The Ill-Advised Trackback* before, usually receiving the How Dare You Track Me Back email in reply.

Anyway, Janette does not have that problem. She's declared an open trackback day.

So drop her a link. Especially some of y'all, you know who you are, who I think are underappreciated. Pull yourself up by them bootstraps now, come on.

*Especially if you're me and you've never quite figured out how to turn off trackback autodiscovery.

i don't get it, why would someone object to a trackback?

p.s. any idea why my personal info is never remembered when posting comments here?

Yeah, that's a thing. Ace had the same problem a while back and maybe still does, I don't know. But basically, we all share one big happy comment system and it gets goofy when you try to make it remember your personal info from blog to blog.

If it helps any, it never remembers me either. :)

Oh--and you would not BELIEVE how pissy some "artistes" get about their precious trackbacks.

Fuck them I say. I have never set out to leave a TB that's pure spam--i.e., doesn't reference the post it trackbacks in any way. But I've left some that only reference the post in a brief sentence or two and taken some heat for that. Like, "If you didn't write paragraph after paragraph about my beyootiful post, I don't want your trackback." Fine. I don't want to read the results of your daily wanking then, either.

FWIW, Ilyka.

Your blog does remember my personal info in Firefox but not IE. I don't know what that's about and I'm probably about as good as you when it comes to figuring out bloggy stuff.

I've never had anyone get pissy with me about a trackback but they can remove the ones they don't want/like if they care to take issue with the practice. Wailing on me will get them nowhere.

IE hates munu. I hate IE. (There is a specific problem in IE with regards to Really. There's a bug report and a registry hack to fix it an everything.)
