Interview!

¡A las ocho de la mañana! I know: When is Ilyka ever up at 8:00 in the morning? Answer: Tomorrow! Tomorrow Ilyka will be right up at 8:00 in the morning! Actually, 7:30! Just to be safe!

All y'all cross your fingers for me. If it goes well enough I might Paypal money TO you. I'm that freakin' pleased about this.

UPDATE: Job! Better one! More money! Fewer--nah, let's leave that unsaid. Thank you, everyone who got all yogic with the finger-crossing. Is that a word? Yogic? Yoga-like? Anyway, I love you all THIS MUCH.

Knock 'em dead, Ilyka.

No, wait. Don't do that. If they're dead they can't hire you. Impress the hell out of them instead. That way you get the job and you're working with people in a hell free environment!

Posted by: Hubris at February 23, 2006 12:08 PM

Oh, sure. My good thoughts worked this time. Not so good for that $365 million Powerball. I'm happy for you, though.

Sweetness!

Phew! I was just reading your blog backwards (because I'm that obsessive when I haven't been around in a while that I need to know things in the order in which they were written), and was about to go, "Oh no! Ilyka needs our help! It's time for -- SUPER-BLOGGERS"! when suddenly, you were rescued by --your own talents.

Congrats, kiddo. Very happy to hear we're both coasting on the better-job-more-money train right now.

Great!

ANd *I* have an interview tonight.

heavens, but I hate sales calls.

And every interview is a sales call.

(It's funny, but I really hate to b e i n sales and doing sales calls, but when I *was* in sales, I was actually pretty good at it. And I'm glad I'm not in it anymore)

(and HaLOSCAN now thinks the word b-e-i-n-g is "questionable content")

Well, I now have a "conditional offer."

Conditional on the reference checks, the criminal background check and that the end-client has no objections (the position is for a team doing softwware support, so that the end-client can move the people currently doing support can move to development, and hiring in a long-term team of contractors can get the work done without violating the "hiring freeze" to make the HR bottom line look better.)
